There is a rumor that the new iPhone, which is dated to launch at June 9th has a solar battery. The rumor states that 1 hour of charge can allow the user to chat for 39 minutes, and listen to a song for an hour. According to the rumor, the solar panel is located at the lower part of the display, where the button is. However, this is only a rumor, and is not sure… However, whether if it’s true or not, would’nt if be good to have a solar battery powered iphone and ipod?

By EILEEN NG,Associated Press Writer AP - Monday, June 2
SINGAPORE - Malaysia has put off plans to ban foreign-registered vehicles from filling up on subsidized gasoline in its border areas with Singapore and Thailand, a top Malaysian official said Sunday.
The ban was originally due to start Monday at up to 300 stations within 30 miles (50 kilometers) of Malaysia’s borders with the two countries, where gasoline costs up to twice as much.
But Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak, who is in Singapore to attend a security summit, told reporters that an anti-inflation Cabinet committee would meet Tuesday to review the plan.
“We have to find a new effective date because there are other matters, like for example, can we have separate pumps because the Singaporeans are saying that they don’t mind paying the market rate,” he said.
The statement indicated that the government may allow foreigners to buy higher-priced fuel, whereas the […]

The blaze was reported before dawn on a sound stage at the film studios, said Los Angeles fire captain Frank Reynoso.
More than 100 city and county firefighters are helping studio staff tackle the flames, which have caused several explosions.
No injuries have been reported at the 230-acre site, which saw filming for King Kong and The War of the Worlds.
Helicopters have been dropping water on to the burning structures, and television pictures showed flames leaping into the air as a thick cloud of smoke covered the site.
What are the implications for artists around the world? Will the loss of this major studio affect the broader company? What response is to be expected from the shareholders?

NEW DELHI: Political and religious leaders from various countries including Sri Lanka and Pakistan today strongly condemned terrorism in all its manifestations and demanded “unbiased initiative” to contain it while denouncing sinister campaigns to malign any particular community.
At a conference on “Anti Terrorism”, also attended by the Dalai Lama and a galaxy of leaders from India and abroad, the leaders called upon governments to generate awareness about the problem cutting across all sections to overcome the “greatest threat” to humanity.
“It is vital to consistently, unequivocally and strongly condemn terrorism in all forms and manifestations, committed by whomever and for whatever purposes. We condemn all forms of terrorism,” President of Jama Masjid United Forum Syed Yahya Bukhari said addressing the gathering.

According to Game Politics, the image was reported on a number of news web sites, including the UK based Telegraph site, as appearing on terrorist based sites. The stories claimed that the the SITE Intelligence Group, a consultant organization that specializes in tracking terrorist activities, said the image was created by a terrorist group. However, a press release from SITE denies that it made any such claim that the image was created by terrorists although it apparently did admit to finding it on a terrorist-linked message board.

The Taliban have been tactically routed in southern Afghanistan, with enemy forces ‘licking their wounds’ after a series of emphatic defeats, say senior British military commanders.
In one of the most bullish assessments yet of the conflict in Helmand province, Brigadier Gordon Messenger said the Taliban’s command structure had been ‘fractured’ and its fighters forced on to the backfoot.
As British forces continue to consolidate positions throughout the Helmand valley, Messenger said latest intelligence indicated that the ferocious fighting that had defined Helmand for the past two summers was unlikely to be repeated. ‘It’s become apparent that the Taliban are very much on the backfoot. Their leadership both south of the border [Pakistan] and also their local leadership has been severely dislocated and fractured.

KABUL, May 31 (Xinhua) — Afghan security forces backed by foreign troops killed 16 Taliban militants in Jalai district of southern province Kandahar while Afghan police killed two insurgents in Dand district of the same province, an official said Saturday.
The combined force bombed Taliban hideouts in Jalai district Friday, killing 16 rebels including one commander named Mullah Torjan, Kandahar’s police chif Sayed Aqa Saqib told Xinhua.
The day-long fighting came as the Afghan army, police and international forces were conducting a major anti-insurgent operation in Jalai and Panjwayi districts of Kandahar, he said.

In a bizarre demand for sexual equality, Islamic women extremists are insisting that al Qaeda gives them the right to become suicide bombers and terrorists.
The women responded with a mixture of anger and dismay to advice from Osama bin Laden’s right-hand man that they should keep to being housewives.
Ayman al-Zawahiri praised the wives of al Qaeda terrorists and said they must “be ready for any service” their men might require.
But he declared that a woman’s role must be limited to looking after the homes and children of fighters – and she should not travel to any war front without a male guardian.
