Tehran rejects incentives to stop uranium enrichment: Solana calls for rebuilding confidence in the peaceful nature of the Iranian Nuclear Program as Bush warns against it

On Sunday, June 6, 2008, the Chief Deputy for foreign politics in the European Union, Khafir Solana, deemed it necessary to “rebuild confidence in the peacefulness of the Iranian Nuclear Program”, during a press conference in Tehran.
Solanda, before a presentation of a broad coalition from the six major powers to Iran, said, “it is necessary to rebuild confidence in the natural peacufulness of Iran’s Nuclear program.” Meanwhile the American President warned that Iran’s rejection of the European incentives guaranteed greater isolation.
This presentation stipulated that Iran cease the enrichment of Uranium, an instruction which Iranian powers refused.
Iran pecluded the cessation of its sensitive nuclear activities despite the incentives of the six major powers, which […]

007’s Creator Argued for Appeasement With Hitler

Here’s a quick excerpt
In the days leading up to World War II, many Briton’s believed as Neville Chamberlain did that the Germany could be persuaded through diplomacy to curb its apparently insatiable appetite for aggression. In a letter written a year before Britain would be forced into war after Hitler’s blitzkrieg into Poland, Ian Fleming, who went on later to create the super spy James Bond, argued for restraint and patience against the Nazis war machine.
In the letter, Fleming argued that if Hitler’s territorial ambitions were limited to the aims he outlined in 1920 – uniting a greater Germany of German peoples, repealing the Versailles treaty and obtaining further territory for the German population – then Britain should step back from war.

“There will be no peace, no return of prosperity, and no happiness in Europe until England and France agree to the fulfilment of Herr Hitler’s stated programme in exchange […]

These are the actions of the “ONLY DEMOCRACY” in the Middle East!
Footage from a video camera handed out by an Israeli human rights group appears to show Jewish settlers beating up Palestinians in the West Bank.
An elderly shepherd, his wife and a nephew said they were attacked by four masked men for allowing their animals to graze near the settlement of Susia.
The rights group, B’Tselem, said the cameras were provided to enable Palestinians to get proof of attacks.
A spokesman for the Israeli police said that an investigation was under way.
So far, no-one has been arrested.

Thousands of lorry drivers around the world are on strike in protest at rising fuel prices. Protests are taking place in Spain, Malaysia, South Korea and the UK. In Argentina food retailers have warned of shortages due to disruption caused by truckers. This report from Jane Warr:

In Spain, about 75,000 lorry drivers have been on strike since Sunday night and more than 70 have been arrested. The Spanish government has promised zero tolerance for any violence by the drivers, following a series of incidents which included an attack on a trucker who broke the strike. That attack left him with 25% burns to his body.
In Malaysia, security has been stepped up in the capital Kuala Lumpur for a rally the […]

A Father’s Day Moment: Only a Dad, But the Best of Men

Only A Dad

By Edgar Albert Guest

Only a dad with a tired face,
Coming home from the daily race,
Bringing little of gold or fame
To show how well he has played the game;
But glad in his heart that his own rejoice
To see him come and to hear his voice.
Only a dad with a brood of four,
One of ten million men or more
Plodding along in the daily strife,
Bearing the whips and the scorns of life,
With never a whimper of pain or hate,
For the sake of those who at home await.
Only a dad, neither rich nor proud,
Merely one of the surging crowd,
Toiling, striving from day to day,
Facing whatever may come his way,
Silent whenever the harsh condemn,
And bearing it all for the love of them.
Only a dad but he gives his all,
To smooth the way for his children small,
Doing with courage stern and grim
The deeds […]

Indian intervention to resume Peace talks with LTTE

Here’s a quick excerpt
Stanley Weerasinghe says… Minister P. Chandrasekaran is seeking Indian intervention to resume peace talks with LTTE. "India could bring the Sri Lankan government and the LTTE to the negotiating table, despite their rigid standpoint," the Minister is reported to have said.
The Minister is well aware that, there were disastrous fallouts when GoSL attempted to negotiate peace with the LTTE. During the time of President Premadasa, LTTE massacred 700 policemen, to terminate peace talks, and when President Chandrika Kumaratunga arranged a peace deal, LTTE sank two SLN vessels berthed in the Trinco harbour, to scuttle negotiations. On both these occasions, GoSL had to pay a heavy price for attempting to negotiate peace with the LTTE terrorists.
One time LTTE eastern ’commander’ Karuna revealed that LTTE smuggled 11 shiploads of weapons during the time of the ceasefire Agreement signed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. Media reported that, when returning from peace talks held […]
