While Tiger Recuperates Money is Lost

Here’s a quick excerpt
When Tiger Woods sank a twelve foot putt that forced a sudden death 17 hole playoff on Monday at the US Open, we we amazed; but then not amazed. To be truthful it was par for the course for Woods; we’ve seen it all before .

Tiger continues to amaze us with his play; this time playing on a gimpy knee, that appeared to give out n him more than once doing the US open. But for Woods this is the way he operates.

The opponent of the week or should I say victim; a different one emerges for each tournament. Wood is the Harlem Globetrotters, the rest of Golf are the Washington Capitols. Inevitably it’s which one of the Nationals will be served up for defeat today?

That is how dominant Tiger Woods is over the game of Golf. No one else is as consistent as a winner than, Woods. He was […]

Sri Lanka sliding towards Totalitarianism and Ruin

Here’s a quick excerpt
The people’s participation in government through the exercise of their franchise seems to have become a farce and a failure in Sri Lanka with dictatorial powers vested in one person by the flawed constitution.
In terms of this constitution once a person becomes president by hook or by crook, he could lead the country to disaster unchallenged, with the help of those ‘elected’ by the people, but have since become traitors and turn coats. These persons were elected to power by voters who voted for the policies of their party.
After being elected these people pole vaulting to parties whose policies their own voters rejected is a classic case of prostituting the franchise expressed by the people for self gain, like the way pimps tout twilight ladies engaged in the world’s oldest profession.
Today the country is undergoing untold miseries such as death, destruction, lawlessness, starvation and malnutrition, while those who […]

Oddly enough but true a truck containing 12 million angry bees was overturned on a major highway in Canada near the town of St-Leonard. A couple thousand were set free before the vehicule could be sealed. As you might have figuered dealing with millions of bees is not exactly easy. Gaz has been poured in the truck to calm the bees and so officials said that there was no danger to the general public but “If there’s anyone in St Leonard who is allergic to bees, we’re recommending they leave town for a couple of hours,” Strong told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. If you are like me, and hate bees. I’d suggest not going anywhere near St-Leonard anytime in the near future

Will religion end on Mars?

The above linked article seems to suggest that if life is found on Mars that somehow religions will have to adapt and change their scripture to fit the new discovery. If they find life on Mars I will say the same thing about life here on Earth. “God did it.”

Women Tennis Players Not Equal To Men Tennis Players @ Wimbledon ~ The More Things Change The More Things Remain The Same

Here’s a quick excerpt
It was not so long ago that the top female tennis players at Wimbledon had to bang their rackets for equal pay. Their male counterparts had been enjoying significantly higher earnings, no doubt a legacy of days when men rule. Recent reports coming out of the Wimbledon tournament has unearthed the same ancient chauvinistic thinking.
The Miami Herald has highlighted the story that defending Wimbledon champion Venus Williams has had to play on Court 2 eight times in the last five years. In that period she would have been the defending champion on two occasions. In stark contrast her male counterpart Roger Federer has played continuously on Court #1 since 2003.
Read the Miami Herald article which outlines the shoddy treatment meted out to top female players at lawn tennis most prestigious tournament.
The BU household rejected the feeble excuses by the Wimbledon management; we however have to highlight Roger Federer’s perspective on […]

MI5 FOILS NINE CELLS IN SECRET

Here’s a quick excerpt
NINE terrorist cells have been secretly stopped from launching attacks in Britain by Scotland Yard detectives and MI5 officers, a new report reveals.
No arrests were made so that the suspects would not know they had been under surveillance.
Instead, the cells were covertly stopped from getting materials or were deterred by an apparent chance encounter with police over a minor matter.
Disruption has become a key tool in fighting terrorism. It allows security chiefs to stop plotters but also track their movements.
Several of the operations are believed to have been in Manchester and Leeds.

Al-Qa’eda style terrorists planning UK attacks with ambulances bought on eBay

pbtt wrote an interesting post today on
Here’s a quick excerpt
Terrorists may be planning to launch suicide bomb attacks in Britain using former NHS ambulances and police cars bought on auction website eBay, police chiefs have warned.
The Association of Chief Police Officers said ministers must legislate to stop the sale of such vehicles amid fears that al-Qa’eda inspired extremists may import a tactic already used in Iraq and Israel.
Every year dozens of police cars, ambulances and fire engines are sold. Some are fully marked and can be bought for as little as £1,500.
Counter-terrorism officials at the Home Office have now written to eBay, the internet auctioneer, asking it to stop selling emergency service vehicles, equipment and uniforms. However, eBay has said it will only self-regulate if a new law is passed.
A report from the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre, sent to chief constables, highlights recent attacks by Al-Qa’eda in Iraq and Israel, including one in February in which a suicide bomber […]

US secret plan to launch military operations in Pak held up

pbtt wrote an interesting post today on
Here’s a quick excerpt
New York, Jun 30 (PTI) A secret plan by the US to launch mission by Special Operations forces into Pakistani tribal areas to capture or kill top al Qaeda leaders has been held up for more than six months and there was “mounting frustration” in Pentagon over the continued delay, a media report said.
Intelligence reports for more than a year had been streaming in about Osama bin Laden’s network rebuilding in the Pakistani tribal areas, a problem that, the report said, had been exacerbated by years of missteps in Washington and Islamabad, sharp policy disagreements, and turf battles between American counter-terrorism agencies.
The plan, outlined in a highly classified Pentagon order, was intended to eliminate some of those battles, the New York Times claimed.
The plan was meant to pave a smoother path into the tribal areas for American commandos, who for years have bristled at what they see as Washington’s risk-averse […]
