Just outside of York, England, 866 A.D. - The Time Machine with Hand Controls came to rest in the middle of a field. I got my chair out and popped the wheels on, and as I approached the village center, the locals began to stop what they were doing, and the cry of “Ivar!” began to grow louder. I, being well-versed in ninth-century Anglo-Saxon speech quickly determined that the locals thought that I was a Viking raider known as “Ivar the Boneless.” I did not do anything to make them think I was Ivar, but I did not deny it at first either. It was a powerful feeling.

The rebuilding of Iraq began almost simultaneously with the invasion of coalition forces in 2003.  Behind the tanks and bombing raids came engineers to rebuild electrical grids, dig wells, and establish hospitals, sometimes to replace what was destroyed and sometimes to bring services where they had never existed before.  Another project has recently been implemented in an effort to bring literacy to the Iraqs to help them to better be able to pick up the reigns of democracy and integrate the country into a cohesive front.
In a decrepit classroom in the northern Iraqi city of Hawija, men in their 20s and 30s sit chanting the Arabic alphabet. Dressed in green military camouflage uniforms, they are part of the Awakening movement – Sunni tribesmen, some of them former insurgents, who now work alongside U.S. forces to secure their neighborhoods.

Talk about the Panopticon Effect, version 10.0.  The panopticon effect (which has been cited by historical theorists like Foucault), in shorthand, is like this: let’s say you’re building a prison yard. But you’ve got a problem.  So many prisoners (can Schwarzeneggar hear a “woot”?), but not enough personnel to police them (”BOOOO!” says ze gov’nah).

So you build a high tower in the center of the prison yard.  The tower essentially towers above the entire space, so the dude chilling high up in the tower can see all.  With its span of windows on all sides, the dude can see all without being seen by anyone.  This dude has a God’s Eye view of everything.

In fact, humans need only 10 percent of the calories we consume to be from protein. Athletes and pregnant women need a little more, but if you’re eating enough calories from a varied plant based diet, it’s close to impossible to not get enough.
The way Americans obsess about protein, you’d think protein deficiency was the number one health problem in America. Of course it’s not–it’s not even on the list of the ailments that doctors are worried about in America or any other countries where basic caloric needs are being met.

Times Now reported that militant organisation Hizbul Mujahideen has taken responsibility for the deadly attack.

The hunt for MRMR planes, each of which should cost around Rs 270-300 crore, comes even as India is on course to sign around Rs 8,000 crore deal for eight Boeing P-8i Poseidon LRMR (long-range maritime reconnaissance) aircraft, which when inked will be the single biggest defence deal with the US.
