Following the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) release of a Customer Service Charter of Rights that implies their intention to change policing strategies in order to more closely work with those they serve; it would appear that JCF has begun to renege on these agreed standards.
In the eyes of 17 year old Carlton Grant’s family, who are currently overwhelmed with grief at his recent fatal shooting by the hands of police officers, this charter has failed to recognize and respect the constitutional and statutory rights and privileges of each citizen as it purports to do.
